Edicts of Ashoka/ Ashoka Shila Lekh / Ashoka Rock Edict are placed in this structure in Junagadh in Gujarat |
Unfortunately, the building in which the edicts are housed was closed down for renovation purposes. So we were denied entry.
"So close but so far" I said to myself.
For information purposes, one can view the Ashokan Rock Edicts from 8 AM to 6 PM all days, but there is a entry fee. I guess the entry fee will change post the renovation is done. If you have visited this place post the renovation do let me know your experience.
Rohan. Remember Rohan, he had accompanied me on my trips in Delhi. he had informed me that it is a huge stone on which there are inscriptions. These inscriptions were made by Ashoka the Emperor of the Mauryan Empire.
